
Mission Neighborhood Centers, Inc. proudly produces an annual Cinco de Mayo celebration at Dolores Park. This celebration is a family friendly, alcohol free event that promotes and reinforces pride in heritage, and preserves the historical connection between Mexico and San Francisco.
The event focuses on the rich artistic and cultural traditions of Mexico including performances by Mariachi, dance groups, arts & crafts, children’s activities and food. San Francisco’s annual Cinco de Mayo Festival at Dolores Park has become a tradition to San Francisco and Bay Area residents. Over 3,000 people come to the park to enjoy the best of Mexican and Latin American cultures with a diverse selection of performances and artistry for the entire family.
Cinco de Mayo is a Mexican holiday that commemorates the Mexican army’s victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5th, 1862. In United States, Cinco de Mayo is observed nationwide to celebrate Mexican heritage. Mission Neighborhood Centers, Inc. invites you to value the cultural impact and significance of Cinco de Mayo in the Mission District of San Francisco.
