About the Role
Bachelor‘s Degree in Public Relations, Business Management, Marketing, Social Services, or other related field; or AS in a related field with at least 3 years of Project/Program Development, Fund Development; or 6 years of experience in senior mass communications fields (corporate, nonprofit, and/or foundation) including public relations, volunteer management, project management, community organizing or other related areas, with demonstrated stability and sustained commitment in previous position(s).
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in capital campaigns, fund development, fundraising, public relations, organizational development, grant writing, advertising, public speaking, budget development in the nonprofit sector.
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, characterized by the ability to listen, to speak, and to write well, with a strong commitment to customer service and the ability to inspire and engage.
Must be detail-oriented, highly organized and demonstrate proficiency in creating thoughtful donor correspondence, conducting research and managing database requirements.
Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel Spreadsheets and Outlook Calendar.
Strong background in working with boards, volunteers and donors.
Experience soliciting and closing five- and six-figure major gifts.
Planned giving experience preferred.
Capital and/or endowment campaign experience preferred
Experience developing and monitoring budgets preferred
A desire to discover and understand all facets of the organization, its programming and its role in the San Francisco community
Experience managing interdepartmental, multi-faceted projects required.
A self-directed, entrepreneurial spirit.
Team player able to work collaboratively with development colleagues as well as interface effectively with other departments.
Experience using CRM database highly desired.
Available to occasionally work weekends and evenings, as needed.
Certificate in Fundraising and/or advanced degree preferred
Knowledge of the San Francisco philanthropic community preferred.
Fingerprinting Clearance (DOJ/FBI) and Clearance Child Abuse Index.
Current CA Driver License; current auto insurance and a clean driving record.
